WoW: Galatians 3; Psalms 119:25-27; Proverbs 21:6 (Bible Read)

Justification Comes By Faith

Galatians 3; Psalms 119:25-27; Proverbs 21:6

O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?

This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? Have you suffered so many things in vain-if indeed it was in vain?

Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?- just as Abraham "believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham.

 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you all the nations shall be blessed." So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them." But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "the just shall live by faith." Yet the law is not of faith, but "the man who does them shall live by them."

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have givenlife, truly righteousness would have been by the law.

But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed.

Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!" Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

But then, indeed, when you did not know God, you served those which by nature are not gods. But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage? You observe days and months and seasons and years. I am afraid for you, lest I have labored for you in vain.

Brethren, I urge you to become like me, for I became like you. You have not injured me at all. You know that because of physical infirmity I preached the gospel to you at the first. And my trial which was in my flesh you did not despise or reject, but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.

What then was the blessing you enjoyed? For I bear you witness that, if possible, you would have plucked out your own eyes and given them to me. Have I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?

They zealously court you, but for no good; yes, they want to exclude you, that you may be zealous for them. But it is good to be zealous in a good thing always, and not only when I am present with you. My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you, I would like to be present with you now and to change my tone; for I have doubts about you.
Galatians 3:1-14, 21-29; 4:1-20

WoW: James 3; Psalms 118:15-17; Proverbs 20:29

The Incredible Power of the Tongue

James 3; Psalms 118:15-17; Proverbs 20:29
My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.

 Indeed, we put bits in horses' mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things.

See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.

This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have.

You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.

Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit"; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow.

For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that." But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door! My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience.

Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord-that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.

But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your "Yes," be "Yes," and your "No," "No," lest you fall into judgment.

Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.

Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

James 3:1-4:3, 13-17; 5:7-20

WORSHIP

I shall not die, but live,
And declare the works of the LORD.
Psalm 118:15-17

Old Testament - The three Jeremiah chapters today are quite eventful!  It is intriguing that the Israelites ask Jeremiah for a message from God - and that whatever they hear back they will do and obey. But then they don't obey! Are we like this at times... ?  We promise promise promise God that we'll listen & change...  but then do we?  If you are going through struggles in your life today will you call out to God?  Do you trust that He will answer in His own unique and perfect way and timing?  And then will you trust and obey?
God_answer
Jeremiah chapter 42 gives a good overview of the day's readings, with these closing 2 verses in this chapter from Jeremiah: "And today I have told you exactly what he said, but you will not obey the LORD your God any better now than you have in the past. So you can be sure that you will die from war, famine, and disease in Egypt, where you insist on going." Jeremiah delivered the message from God... but knew that the message would go unheeded.
Jeremiah20prophesying20the20defeat20of20
Chapter 43 reminds me that when we are disobedient to God's will that our disobedience can affect not only ourselves, but others around us too. Mind you, Egypt was not a "house of the holy" - but the Israelites disobedience is going to bring destruction to themselves and Egypt. They're carrying their disobedience and curse on to others.  Jeremiah 43's verses 9 & 10 stood out: ""While the people of Judah are watching, bury large rocks between the pavement stones at the entrance of Pharaoh's palace here in Tahpanhes. I will surely bring my servant Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, here to Egypt." Interesting that God calls Nebuchadnezzar his "servant". Would God have said this about the Israelites at this time? Called them his servants?
Jer_43_9_take_great_stones_in_thine_hand
Chapter 44 is a great reminder of why it's a bad idea to pursue idols in our life instead of God! Verse 7 asks "Why are you destroying yourselves?" I love this verse. Why are we destroying ourselves? We bring upon self-abuse, self-destruction, when we pursue things that are not of God. Think about it. They may bring a quick temporary pleasure, but in the long run are they building us up or destroying us? Why are we destroying ourselves?
Stress
New Testament - 2 Timothy 2, verse 9 has a great verse for us One Year Bible readers! :) "But the word of God cannot be chained." Amen!  Well, I suppose in theory one individual Bible could be chained (as you sadly see below), but not all Bibles.  God's living and active Word overall cannot be chained!
Chained_bible
2 Tim 2 is a great chapter today... just jam packed with wisdom. Verse 4 stands out: "And as Christ's soldier, do not let yourself become tied up in the affairs of this life, for then you cannot satisfy the one who has enlisted you in his army." How often do we become tied up in affairs of this life.... ? Every day? Every hour? More often than that... ? If we are constantly "distracted" by the affairs of this life, do we lose sight of Jesus? Do we distract ourselves so much so that we can't serve Jesus well?
Distracted
Verse 21 is a great closing verse today: "If you keep yourself pure, you will be a utensil God can use for his purpose. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work." Will you keep yourself pure?  Have you ever realized that you are indeed a utensil for God's use?  :)
Utensils
Psalms - Today in Psalm 92 verse 4 we read a joyful verse! “For you make me glad by your deeds, O LORD; I sing for joy at the works of your hands.” When was the last time you reflected upon God’s deeds? When was the last time you reflected upon God’s work of his hands? Do you think this might be a good daily habit? Do God’s deeds make you glad? Do you sing for joy regularly for the work of God's hands?
Bible.org's commentary on Psalm 92 titled "Worship - Our Delight and Our Duty" is at this link.
Proverbs - In Proverbs 26 today I think we have a catch-22! Someone correct me if I'm wrong here in verses 4 & 5 - "When arguing with fools, don't answer their foolish arguments, or you will become as foolish as they are. When arguing with fools, be sure to answer their foolish arguments, or they will become wise in their own estimation."  So do we not answer their foolish arguments.... or do we? :) I can see the wisdom in both verses in different circumstances... Let me know what you think on this one in the Comments below!
Catch_22
Worship God:  The wisdom of so many verses in Second Timothy chapter 2 today reminded me yet again of the power of the Gospel to transform our lives.  The power of Jesus to transform our lives!  And so, I'm reminded of Brandon Heath's popular song "I'm Not Who I Was."  I'm not sure if you've seen this video set to this song, but do yourself a favor and watch it all the way through.  It is a grace filled song with a grace filled video to go along with it!  Are you who you were?

Please join us in memorizing and meditating on a verse of Scripture today: "Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly." 2 Timothy 2:16 (NIV)
Prayer Point: Pray that you will avoid godless chatter in your life. Pray that you will not indulge in gossip. Pray that you won't become ungodly by allowing godless chatter to infect your life in any way, shape or form.

"CHURCH IS WORSHIP"

CHURCH IS WORSHIP

The Place church begins isn't at church but at home.

It is the family.
It is the heart of the Father demonstrated in the love you have.

Do you see your family as a worship team?
Is you family developing a time together as worshipers?

They say that the family that prays together stays together;
but we all know that isn't true.

FOR SOME IT HELPS.

But a family that worships together is a force to be reckoned.

Singing, clapping, laughing, smiling, sharing the joy of the Lord.
God Delights in the Family that finds this Mystery He made families for.

You may have never have realized this before;
but in Heaven the Home that is there is all about worship.

And the Churches are but lamp-stands in the family of God Almighty.

CHURCH IS WORSHIP

But it begins and Ends in the Home.

" WHY GO TO CHURCH?"

WHY GO TO CHURCH?
Well......

frankly you don't have to.

YOU CAN STAY HOME.
YOU CAN WATCH GOLF OR FOOTBALL...

There is no "law" saying you "have to" go to church.
(No matter what anyone tells you or tries to interpret for you.

No offense to "pressure or pleasing" churches but;
if you don't want to go....,

DON"T GO TO CHURCH

Let me know how that works out for ya......

I can tell you why I GO TO CHURCH.

For you.

I go because I miss you.

I like people and though I may not have verbal intercourse with them;
I do see you face and the people you "hang with" or "talk to";
and as weird as this sounds.....

Your company encourages me; and I am there to encourage others so I go to church because I miss you.

I also go to Church to Bless You.

You see I know more than I let on and God lets me know more than I can say and when I see your eyes I know whats going on with you because God tells me.........

SO I PRAY SILENTLY FOR YOU.

Why?

Well that's silly; because I love you.

That's why I go to church;
because I love to, I love you and I love him.

I go because of Love.

I Love It.

"GOD WANTS US TO THINK"

GOD WANTS US TO THINK

It is true without faith it is impossible to please Him;
but gave us a brain and He wants us to think.

WE CHOOSE WHAT WE THINK ABOUT;
but faith is not the absence of thought;
it is the conclusion of a rationale mind.

Faith can be the most logical conclusion in your life;
if God is in your equation.

Blind faith is belligerent
Assertive Faith is dictatorial.

Faith is faith.

Not thinking will you realize pretty fast;

YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU PUT YOUR FAITH IN;
or who.

"GOD USES ANYONE"

GOD USES ANYONE

You learn if you live long enough;
God can use anyone top speak to you.

He can and has in the Old Testament
used those who were not walking with Him;
to speak to those who were.

The same is true today.

Don't reject someone who might be used by God to help you;
Government, person, church or even some enemy you once had.

SOMETIMES BEING HELPED
is a great healing method God uses on your pride.

Don't be surprised if you help comes from the Lord;
but thru the least likely person, place or thing;

you would have imagined.

" A HOAX WAS POSTED"

LATE LAST WEEK A HOAX WAS POSTED

The Full Story Here: http://global.christianpost.com/news/joel-osteen-resigns-a-hoax-pastor-attacked-with-false-statement-93453/

I re-posted part of the hoax as a "lead in" to this article.

WHAT ARE YOU READY TO BELIEVE IN?

The Post was about Joel Osteen having a "crisis of faith" and resigning which any "man of God" can tell you does in fact happen to every Man of God without exception because we have no faith unless it is tested.

Some actually do "fall away" "do a prodigal" "take a sabbatical" "fast and pray" or in some way do some soul searching.

Even Jesus did this in the Garden of Gethsemane.

SO THE FACT OF CRISIS could have been actual.

The post was hoax.

Interesting enough the HOAX is a good lesson for you and I.

HOW DID YOU REACT TO THE NEWS?

I found some interesting remarks by some people who varied from rejoicing to outright ungodly statements about a Man of God.
(#Note I am not endorsing Joel Osteen I am stating a fact: He is a Man of God and as such is accountable to God).

Oddly as I read the letter I was sad. My first reaction was the Jim Bakker PTL CLUB thoughts that though the man failed the ministry had succeeded in many salvation and people getting to know Jesus.

I thought about Joel and said a quick prayer while I looked for sources to validate the claim.

OBVIOUSLY THE POST WAS FALSE and that was soon easy to tell.

The post also reminded me of the MANY MANY POSTS I tell people are "FALSE" and they get upset.

They have 're-posted' some 'nice idea' they got on the Internet and found on Facebook and often react emotionally to being told their post is false in some way.

AND THEY DON'T LIKE THE TRUTH OF IT BECAUSE THEY WANT TO BELIEVE IN WHAT THEY POSTED

Most people I tell "FALSE" to I know they know better.

They are normal what most would say "good" people on the outside and just played a little "gossip" of "flesh test" without really thinking about it.

BUT THE DAMAGE POSTS CAN DO ARE MEASURED DIRECTLY by the words Jesus said and the goals that should be in our life.

TRUTH.

"...and every idle word man shall speak shall be held accountable to him"

ATTITUDE often is revealed by words; but not always. Transference occurs a lot on FACEBOOK and the INTERNET when a person reads a post in a bad attitude then "PROJECTS" that attitude to the post they are reading or the comment.

THEY SEE what they are FEELING INSIDE.

Another interesting thing about FACEBOOK and REPOSTS is people don't read the post but only "REVIEW" the title.

BASED ON THE TITLE, they will then pass on fact, fallacies, lies, spam, ads, viruses, slander, things they may not do in public, but thinking they are in private, redistribute information they are accountable for.....,

THAT ACCORDING TO RESEARCH more than 50% never read.

WHAT ARE YOU READY TO BELIEVE IN?

Is it the Truth? or just something......

YOU WANT TO BELIEVE IN?

"AGE IS NOT MATURITY"

AGE IS NOT MATURITY
Getting older does not make a person mature.

But Maturation should produce maturity
if we willing to quit acting like a child and be a man.

Or a Woman.

Ages in Life have a process of development to them.
Some call the Terrible Two's for the nature of a child at that age.

THE SAME IS TRUE IN ADULTS.
Being older just makes you older.

Is not mean you are mature.
Nor does in ensure adulthood.

Many Men and Woman revert to childish ways
and are not mature in their faith.

As you go thru life you are meant to grow thru life.

GOD's NOT INTERESTED IN BOY"S TOY'S OR CARNAL JOYS
He's interested inf you are invested in the means he employs to mature you.

It's time you grow up into Him in all things.

Man caves are not for serious business with God
and Man Talk has never yet been about being an Adult.

WHEN YOU WANT MATURITY YOU TURN TO THE WORD OF GOD.
then go out and do it to reveal who and what you are.

YOUR AGE IS NOT YOUR MATURITY;

but your Faith is.

"One Word"

ONE WORD

That word doesn't have to be "Jesus";
but one word can make or break a relationship.

The Power you have is not a declarative capability;
but an emotive application.

You can't Kill with a word or create by speaking;
but you can Murder a soul and sacrifice a feeling.

A word from you can make a person's day;
or ruin years of person's experience with you.

Choose your words wisely we are told;
for "IN THEM" are life, not that they are life.

Words are words,
but how we use them determines their impact.

"Sticks and stone may break my bones;
but words will kill what's in me"

One Word.
One Thought.
One Action.

It really is up to you;
which direction that word will go.

My one word I choose to do daily is:

INSPIRE.

"THEN SHALL WE KNOW"

THEN SHALL WE KNOW
if we follow on to know the Lord:

his going forth is prepared as the morning;

and he shall come unto us as the rain,
as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

MAYBE you don't look for the Lord Today;
But I do.

I seek to find some subtle way He reveals himself to me;
even as gently He speaks to me in the morning
and walks to me on the rays of the dawn.

OH YEAH.

I expect to Hear from God today;
as Much as I expect to see Him today.

I am not content with the Day unless I do.

Thousands may do a thousand other things;
but between you and me;

I WAIT ON THE LORD.

"The Life of Faith"

THE LIFE OF FAITH
is not a picnic table and a barbecue;
where the only issue you face is ants.

Faith is when you really don't know what to do;
and you do it anyways;
because at some point in time God said so.

Faith is never about the results;
it's all about the process.

THAT MOMENT YOU CHOOSE
to ignore the feelings and the facts;
that all say not to do what God has said to do.

If it was easy it wasn't faith.

Faith is a supernatural act in the most natural of worlds;
and the exercise of spiritual reality in the practicalities of life.

Faith costs.

WILL YOU PAY THE PRICE?

GOOD MORNING CHRISTIAN: "SEE YOUR SOUL" -Michael James Stone

SEE YOUR SOUL HAS A REFLECTION OF YOUR LIFE

Picture a Pond; a lake with mountains surrounding it.
When the Water is like glass it is a perfect reflection of the mountains.

Now drop a pebble in that pond.
The ripple effect will distort the reflection.

What you let into your soul is the pebble;
your emotions cause the ripple effect.

"Thou will keep Him in Perfect Peace;
whose Mind is Stayed on thee"

You can be a perfect reflection of God today;
even if for a moment, or an hour or a day.

But make no mistake.

Your emotions cast your soul from reflection of God's Peace;
to distraction of your reactions.

Today if you can, think of this as David said.

I HAVE STILLED AND QUIETED MY SOUL.

If you do;

Your Pond will return to Peace;
as you learn to be still and know God.

VIDDEVO

"Who Loves You?"

"MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE,

AND I KNOW THEM,

AND THEY FOLLOW ME"

John 10:27

What This is about is Personal.

It is my Personal Relationship and Response to Jesus.

It is about the Way I relate to Jesus and How He Communicates to Me. It is not an uncommon experience, but it is one that is Unique and Distinctive to God because He did it. I merely responded to what He did to me. This should be common to all men and could be.

VidDevo is Testimony.

It is the personal experience of God related in an intimate and personal way about what Jesus wants to communicate to me and through me for others as well as for my self. It is life experiences. It is Testimony. It is real. It is live. None of it is exaggerated. It is my devotional life as I live it in Video: VidDevo.

VidDevo is Personal.

It is about You. It is about Me. We are relating Jesus to each other by Video but communicating to each other as the Spirit of God makes real what fits in your life the same way he does for me. And it may not be the same thing. It is God speaking. It doesn't matter how He does. It is personal to you and Him, just as it is personal to He and I. God speaks thru VidDevo to each individual person; personally.

VidDevo is Real.

It is life. It is daily. It is about what happens to me and as much as possible what affects you as I see it happening to you. It is the response of a Man of God with God in success and failure, in happiness and sorrow, in all aspects of life and living it. It is not reality video, but the reality of God manifest in the flesh, mine, as I relate to God in all I am doing. It is God in me as Jesus said He would be and is. He is real, I am not.
